Covid-19 dental PRACTICE POLICY

Our office is currently open! Here is our updated Covid - 19 policy to ensure the safety of both our patients and staff.

We want to take this opportunity to review with you our Covid-19 Dental Practice Policy. Even before the COVID-19 outbreak, our office has always followed strict infection control protocols recommended by the Center for Disease Control, American Dental Association, and OSHA.  Our updated policy includes CDC recommended infection control measures, use of a facemask by all staff and patients in common areas; appropriate PPE use during clinical care; consistent hand hygiene on the part of patients and staff; screening and monitoring for evidence of COVID-19 infection of anyone entering the dental office; and appropriate patient management.

 

All patients and dental practice staff must have their temperature taken and be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to entering the dental facility.  Please complete the REQUIRED “Pre-Appointment Covid - 19 Form” before your visit. Our safety policy also includes modifications to your experiences while visiting our office, please review our Covid-19 protocols below, as this is how we are keeping you and your smiles healthy.

  • When you arrive, please stay in your car and let us know you have arrived via phone call to 805-492-3553

  • Only patients with appointments and one guardian (if under 18) permitted into the office.

  • Please wear a mouth mask while entering the premises.

Covid-19 dental PRACTICE POLICY

To ensure the safety of all our patients and staff, the following list includes the multiple additional steps we have implemented as part of our “COVID-19 Dental Practice Policy”.

  • Ventura County, City of Thousand Oaks Open & Safe Compliance Authorization.

  • Use of specially designed High Volume Evacuation Equipment to reduce the aerosol spread in the treatment room setting.

  • Use of medical grade HEPA-13 air filtration, continuously in treatment rooms and common areas.

  • Use of hydrogen peroxide/chlorhexidine oral rinses prior to evaluation (if needed).

  • Extended appointment times to ensure adequate social distancing of all patients.

  • Use of N95 respirators or ASTM level III masks combined with face shields.

  • Use of PPE gowns and hair covers worn by staff.

  • Disinfection of all critical care touchpoints regularly throughout the day.

  • Providing single-use gloves to patients at the entry to the office (if needed).

  • Providing patients with masks upon entry to the office (if needed).

  • Posting of signs showing appropriate cough etiquette.

  • Acrylic shield protectors for all front office and business offices. 

Our commitment to your safety has always been an important part of our practice, which we take much pride in.  If you are wondering whether it is safe to return to the dental office, we want to reassure you that our dental office cleanliness and sanitation have always exceeded the required standards to prevent the spread of any illness. The additional measures we are putting in place with the “COVID-19 Dental Practice Policy” will further improve patient and staff safety.
